Founded in 2018 by Lars Scharp and Floor Wiggers, Lars Amsterdam has grown into an iconic fine dining destination in the Houthavens district of Amsterdam. In 2022, the restaurant was awarded a prestigious Michelin star – a recognition of its creative culinary signature, refined flavors, and outstanding hospitality.
A distinctive feature of Lars Amsterdam is the 400 m² rooftop city garden located just across from the restaurant. Since 2023, this green oasis has served as a sustainable source of inspiration and ingredients. The harvest from this garden plays a central role in the seasonal Green Menu, celebrating plant-based refinement with deep respect for nature.
Chef Lars Scharp offers three menus, each reflecting a unique facet of his culinary vision: the Green Menu, inspired entirely by the rooftop garden’s bounty; the Experience Menu, offering a refined introduction to his signature style; and the Exclusive Menu, a full gastronomic journey for the true connoisseur.
In the kitchen, classic French techniques are beautifully blended with elegant Asian influences. Every dish is crafted with meticulously sourced ingredients and presented as a visual work of art. On days when the restaurant is not open for regular service, we are pleased to welcome private groups of 20 guests or more by request. Whether for a business gathering, private celebration, or exclusive dinner, we are happy to work with you to create a tailor-made culinary experience.
Parken is available in the Houthavens parking garage. We recommend using the pink elevator to the first floor. Lars Amsterdam is located on the first floor of the Moxy / Residence Inn Hotel.
Our restaurant is fully wheelchair accessible and offers additional space for mobility scooters and wheelchairs, ensuring that all guests can move comfortably. Small dogs and guide dogs are welcome — we’ll gladly make sure they feel at ease too.
